Avvolgere con coperte.

I pescatori di Bari, come madri che rimboccano le coperte ai figli stanchi, coprono le barche dal sole che brucia, dalla pioggia e dal sale che scava, con coperte e teli consunti, mossi dal desiderio di preservare ciò che amano, per evitare che venga violato, danneggiato dal tempo. Un gesto d’amore silenzioso. Un atto di rispetto, affetto e di rigenerazione per un bene così prezioso, che ha dato tanto. Un atto di speranza che prepara al domani, a nuove navigazioni. L’immateriale potenza di un gesto semplice, la pratica dei pescatori di coprire le barche come metafora di vita: anche ciò che appare forte, ha bisogno di cura e protezione, anche ciò che ci ha salvato più volte dal naufragio, merita riposo. Così dovremmo fare anche con le persone, con i sogni, con noi stessi, con le nostre fragilità. Coprirli, ogni tanto, per proteggerli dal troppo mondo, dalle intemperie della vita.

Ho voluto con questo progetto, “dematerializzare” quella pratica di manutenzione e protezione che a prima vista può sembrare scontata, banale, per agire a livello emotivo, per trovare una connessione con il mio inconscio. Tutto motivato, spinto dal mare, da quanto ad esso è collegato, dal suo valore simbolico e culturale che associo alla vita, al viaggio interiore di ciascun uomo.

The fishermen of Bari, like mothers tucking in tired children, cover their boats from the burning sun, the rain, and the eroding salt, with worn blankets and sheets, driven by the desire to preserve what they love, to prevent it from being violated and damaged by time. A silent gesture of love. An act of respect, affection, and regeneration for such a precious asset, which has given so much. An act of hope that prepares for tomorrow, for new voyages. The intangible power of a simple gesture, the fishermen's practice of covering their boats as a metaphor for life: even what appears strong needs care and protection, even what has saved us from shipwreck many times, deserves rest. We should do the same with people, with dreams, with ourselves, with our fragilities. Cover them, every now and then, to protect them from the overwhelming world, from the storms of life.

With this project, I wanted to "dematerialize" the maintenance and protection practices that at first glance might seem obvious and banal, to act on an emotional level, to find a connection with my unconscious. All motivated and driven by the sea, by everything connected to it, by its symbolic and cultural value, which I associate with life, with the inner journey of each human being.
